A September Serenade: Kristin & Hubert’s Vineyard Vows Beneath Ontario Skies
September 9 , 2023
under the soft whisper of late-summer winds and the golden light of an early fall sun, Kristin and Hubert Ka promised forever. Their wedding unfolded just north of Toronto, in the charming town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, surrounded by the rolling hills and vine-laced beauty of Willow Springs Winery. It was a day of joyful tears, soul-stirring words, and the kind of laughter that lingers in the heart — a celebration rich in sentiment and full of grace.
Kristin found her wedding gown at Janene’s Bridal Boutique in San Francisco — a gown by Eddy K Dreams, Sima. Although she describes herself as “so so bad with brands and designers 🫠,” the moment she put it on, something clicked. “I could not stop smiling while wearing it! I felt me, I felt beautiful, I felt sexy (in a classy way, if that is possible haha), and kinda surprising. It was not what I had originally pictured for myself, and yet, a week after trying it on, I kept thinking back to it.”
The magic of the day was woven into every moment, but Kristin’s favorite memories are filled with deep emotional resonance. The first look with Hubert was sacred — just the two of them, savoring their shared journey and everything they’d built together. Then came the vows, an intimate exchange where tears flowed freely. “All at once there was a feeling of Hubert and I being alone in each other’s words, yet also surrounded by more love and support from our friends and family than we had ever experienced in one place.”
One moment that remains unforgettable was a surprise from Kristin’s sister during her speech — a moment of theatrical joy and raw emotion, inspired by Kristin’s favorite musical, Hamilton. Amanda began:
“To the Groom!”
Guests (to my surprise): “To the Groom! To the Groom! To the Groom!”
Amanda: “To the Bride!”
Guests: “To the Bride! To the Bride! To the Bride!”
Amanda: “From your sister… who is always by your side.”
“And this is when I lost it and started crying haha,” Kristin recalls, a moment that still brings tears to her and Hubert’s eyes to this day.
As she reflects on the meaning of her gown, Kristin shares, “Each time I look at the dress, a wave of emotions and memories surrounding the wedding resurface. Immediately, I am transported back to our first look or beside our friends on the dance floor. I even recall all the dresses that had come before as I go dress shopping with my sister, mom, and friend. All the key steps that lead to such an incredible day.”
With a heart full of gratitude and nostalgia, Kristin chose to have her gown cleaned, preserved, and placed in one of Elegance Preserved’s exquisite wedding preservation boxes. “I have heard such wonderful things from Janene’s Bridal about Elegance Preserved, and just within the last few weeks communicating with the team, they have been so thoughtful and kind. Plus, the end product, the storage box, and attention to detail are of incredibly high quality. I am truly so excited and grateful to have the dress for years to come!”
