A Timeless Dance Beneath the Pines: Jill & Tanner’s Nakoma Resort Celebration

Nestled in the serene mountain beauty of Clio, California, Jill and Tanner Johnson celebrated their wedding at the enchanting Nakoma Resort.
Jill’s gown—a romantic lace design by Maggie Sottero, purchased at Janene’s Bridal in San Francisco—was “the one” the moment she stepped out to see her mom and friends’ faces. “One of my friends even cried,” Jill shared. “I tried on a few more dresses after that, but we all knew this was the dress.”
Her favorite memory from the day was the first dance: “The way time stood still for a moment during my first dance with my husband. Our song was ‘How Long Will I Love You’ by Ellie Goulding. That quiet moment together, in the middle of such a fun and chaotic day, felt so special and loving.”
Jill also poured herself into creating countless personal touches: signature cocktails named after their three pets, handmade table name cards inspired by Burning Man camps and art cars, menus she designed herself with all food ingredients listed for allergy-friendly dining, and custom signs crafted with her Cricut machine. To make sure every guest felt comfortable, she added paper fans for the ceremony, blankets made by her mom for the evening chill, and glowsticks with light-up toys to keep the dance floor buzzing. “It was a lot of work,” she said, “but I think everything came together beautifully and our guests had an incredible time.”
Afterwards, she knew her gown needed special care: “I loved my dress, especially the lace pattern. I had way too much fun dancing and running around at my wedding, so it got pretty dirty, and I wanted to restore it to its original beauty. Plus, maybe someday I’ll be able to pass it on to another family member.” Jill chose Wedding Dress Cleaning and Wedding Dress Preservation with Elegance Preserved because, as she said, “They came recommended to me by Janene’s Bridal, where I bought my dress and had alterations.
