Trixie and Pedro had a beautiful ceremony in  Redwood Grove Amphitheater at the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens, CA. Their reception was held at Preservation Park in downtown Oakland. Trixie looked gorgeous in her Theia Couture gown, which she bought in The Wedding Party, Berkley. This is a stunning example Oakland Wedding Dress preservation.

Trixie chose the perfect gown for her big day, she looked ethereal in her forest ceremony. “I knew I wanted a dress that was clean, classic, and that would allow me to move comfortably throughout the day. I knew it was the one because I felt beautiful in it, and I happened upon it during a Theia trunk show, which definitely helped! ”

When asked about what made her big day the most memorable. Trixie said. “Being able to gather with good friends and family, especially since we were slowly beginning to come out of the peak COVID lockdown period. It was the first time for many attendees (ourselves included) to gather together and celebrate something fun and joyful. We all definitely needed it after 2020!” These stories are why we love working on Oakland wedding dress preservation.

The highlights didn’t stop there. Trixie and Pedro really wanted the day to reflect them as a couple and as individuals. “We tried not to overdo it with any particular themes or designs, but instead infused our respective culture and heritage through various touches in the ceremony and reception. (I’m Filipino and my husband is Dominican.) We had some Tagalog instrumentals in our ceremony, and included bachata dance music in our reception. Our food was Latin inspired (catered by Havana Restaurant in Walnut Creek) and we had Filipino dessert bites created by a college friend that runs The Filipino Food Lab. We also worked to intentionally hire and work with vendors that were women, minority, and/or locally owned.”

We asked Trixie why she decided to have her dress preserved.  “The gown carries great memories and has the potential to be used again in the future. Given the simplicity of it, I’d love to pass it on to a future family member or take it out from time to time as years pass.” Trixie chose to have her gown cleaned and preserved at Elegance Preserved and we couldn’t have been more happy to have her!
