Wedding Dress Wine Stain Removal
Our bride came to us with a very tough red wine stain on her beautiful Augusta Jones dress purchased from our good friends at Haute Bride.
Haute Bride – Boutique: We performed wedding dress wine stain removal testing prior to cleaning this dress and this dress cleaning process responded well. The entire wine stain was meticulously cleaned by hand. We then followed up with a wet cleaning process to remove the cleaning mix from the fibers. And of course, after the wedding dress cleaning procedures we pressed the entire dress back to form after.
After 40 plus years, our master dry cleaner has developed his own techniques that can whiten the delicate fibers in challenged situations.
When we see a wedding dress wine stain removal challenge of this nature on a high end dress, we do often recommend a testing procedure and separate testing quote. Our testing quote procedure is a set dollar amount for the test, and the result is then reviewed with our customer before proceeding so that the customer may make a decision whether they would like to proceed with the full cleaning quote. The testing fee is then applied to the balance of the final cleaning quote.
We don’t typically create testing quotes unless we have a red wine challenge that seems to be an obvious challenge such as aged red wine staining situations and we do not create testing quotes for all dresses. It is only used in rare red wine staining situations. However, this dress was so extensively stained that it did require a testing quote before starting.
Our goal is always to do our best with our brides to try and communicate the expected outcome in advance of the cleaning.
We do realize the purchase of wedding dress cleaning services is a very unique and rare occurrence and not a simple decision for a bride.
